The Benefits of First Class Travel

Many travellers are intimidated by the thought of flying first class especially on the expenses front. Admittedly, first class airfare is nothing to sneer at. This is why many first class passengers are “sponsored” by their companies and corporate leaders; they would want any business-related flight to be as comfortable and as pleasant as possible to bring the best results, cost notwithstanding.

One good advice is to take advantage of travel agency options from High Class Travel, with its variety of specialized services and money-saving packages that already include airfare, hotel and transportation costs.

If you have gotten used to coach seats and economy flights and are wondering about the benefits of first class flying (but are wary of the expenses), consider the following.

Hassle-free airport check-in plus added conveniences. Those travelling in business or first class have the special privilege of shorter, faster lanes for security and safety inspections at the airport. In stark contrast, economy class passengers have to deal with longer queues and more check points. Travelling internationally on first class also characteristically includes free use of airport lounges and even shower rooms.

First-boarding priority. Having to queue up for a shorter period also means being the first to board the plane and getting to relax faster. Luggage is typically stowed in a special compartment in front and not overhead, as with economy or coach passengers. There are also special compartments to hang up coats and jackets in so they won’t get wrinkled during the flight. And while waiting for the rest of the passengers to get settled, flight attendants sometimes already offer refreshments to first class passengers.

Delicious meals and free cocktails. Many first class passengers with frequent flier miles will probably attest to the quality of the in-flight food in business/ first class versus that of economy (if any is actually served). Luxury commercial flights often employ top chefs to whip up gourmet meals with several courses worthy of 5-star restaurants. As soon as the plane goes into auto-pilot, first class passengers on long haul flights can expect unlimited drinks and quality nibbles (definitely not just economy-class peanuts!) served up by courteous flight attendants.

Added comfort. Of course, one of the more noticeable upgrades from economy to first class is the quality of the seats. For long-haul international flights, being comfortably seated is a must. First class flights offer generously spaced seating with chairs that can convert into lay-flat beds. As well, pillows and blankets, not usually available in economy, can be requested in first class flights for more comfortable naps. Electronic gadgets can be charged in some commercial airlines, with a choice of movies to be viewed on individual screens.

More frequent upgrades. The more first-class flights you have, the bigger the chance to have upgrades on a frequent flier program. Many commercial airlines have a list of whom they consider their best customers, and if you have racked up enough flights to become part of that list, you will likely be informed in advance of special rates and promotional packages.

Companies and corporations who make it a habit to book first class flights for its staff often get discounts even for the individual entities who have travelled under their company’s name. As well, many respected travel agencies like High Class Travel offer the use of your airline miles to pay for airfare without worrying about blackout dates or space limitations. You can also book first-class seats on Continental, American, British, Swiss, Delta and Lufthansa Airlines flights that are already sold out!
